This is a very intriguing shot for a few reasons and I think the photographer probably made the right choice in submitting it to the Conceptual category.

If the artist hadn't written an explanation as to how this photo was created, you really would be left wondering how it was done. This picture shows great vision and ingenuity in creating a shot that is quite unique and has been well thought-out beforehand. The second tube and flower in the background is particularly intriguing and almost gives a sense of 'infinity' to the shot, mirroring the subject in the foreground.

I would note that the lighting on the flower in the foreground is, perhaps, a bit too harsh and leaves parts of it quite over-exposed. It could be that this was unavoidable due to the nature of the lighting system and, really, this doesn't take too much away from the picture overall, but it would have been nice to see more detail in the flower which this high-key lighting eliminates slightly.

The composition and use of space in the photo is very good, with particular regard to the angle of the tube and the position of the tube in the background, and the use of negative space in the top right hand corner. This makes the shot work well as a whole artistic piece.

This is a great concept which the artist should endeavour to enhance where possible, and contintinue to make such interesting works out of.
